The ACCOSCA Learn and Share Initiative in Bangkok\, Thailand\, provides African cooperative leaders with an opportunity to examine Thailand’s integrated cooperative ecosystem\, where savings and credit cooperatives\, agricultural enterprises and consumer cooperatives contribute to economic development. Participants will also gain insights into how cooperatives establish market linkages\, support small businesses\, create additional revenue streams and leverage economies of scale to improve members’ economic opportunities. Through this learning experience\, ACCOSCA seeks to inspire African SACCOs and credit unions to expand their economic influence beyond financial intermediation\, unlock new opportunities for cooperative enterprise development and position the movement as a catalyst for Africa’s industrialization\, job creation and shared prosperity.

DESCRIPTION:The ACCOSCA Learn and Share Initiative in Brazil offers African SACCO and credit union leaders an opportunity to explore one of Latin America’s most established cooperative movements\, with particular emphasis on the success of federated cooperative banking systems\, agricultural industrialization\, shared financial infrastructure and cooperative-led enterprise development. Through institutional engagements and experiential learning\, the African delegation will examine how Brazilian cooperatives achieve economies of scale\, establish competitive financial institutions\, integrate farmers into profitable value chains\, diversify revenue streams and strengthen members’ participation in the wider economy. This international exchange seeks to inspire a new generation of African cooperative institutions capable of moving beyond traditional financial intermediation to become influential drivers of enterprise development\, economic productivity\, job creation and sustainable prosperity across the continent.
