Learn and Share Initiative – Thailand

Thailand’s cooperative movement offers a compelling example of how member-owned enterprises can move beyond traditional financial services to become powerful engines of production, trade, entrepreneurship and economic transformation. The ACCOSCA Learn and Share Initiative in Bangkok, Thailand, provides African cooperative leaders with an opportunity to examine Thailand’s integrated cooperative ecosystem, where savings and credit cooperatives, agricultural enterprises and consumer cooperatives contribute to economic development. Participants will also gain insights into how cooperatives establish market linkages, support small businesses, create additional revenue streams and leverage economies of scale to improve members’ economic opportunities. Through this learning experience, ACCOSCA seeks to inspire African SACCOs and credit unions to expand their economic influence beyond financial intermediation, unlock new opportunities for cooperative enterprise development and position the movement as a catalyst for Africa’s industrialization, job creation and shared prosperity.
